Azcom can offer its public
sector clients the added support, security and accountability of
running contracts or projects through the DSA (Disposal Services
Authority of the Ministry of Defence).
The DSA was initially formed to dispose of the Ministry of Defence's surpluses, everything from battleships and planes to boots and blankets that had previously been auctioned for little or no profit. Today the Authority works through a network of its dedicated contractors, to offer for sale or dispose of items no longer required by the original owner.
Each contractor manages a separate category of goods which is offered for direct purchase or is available through auction or tender. The contractors are audited quarterly by the Authority and annually by the MOD with emphasis being made on quality, financial accountability, health & safety and environmental compliance. The Authority project manages the jobs, audits the sales returns and the stock kept on the client's behalf.
The DSA is the only Government organisation offering a completely managed service for the re-use, recycling and ultimately disposal of surplus government assets.
